It's nice out here.

Westsyde is located in the North of Kamloops, BC. It is not to be confused with the North shore, which combined with the South shore, is really central. Nor with Brock which is actually on the westside. It is on the West side of the North Thompson. If you reached Rayleigh your on the other side and like everyone else here you're wishing for a bridge.

Overwaitea Food Group and WCDS Partner Public Meeting on New Westsyde Mall

If you missed it here is basically what the scoop is:

There were appoximately 135 people who came out to hear Tom Munro, vice-president of real estate and store development with Overwaitea Food Group, talk about the plans for the new Westsyde Shopping Centre. Construction, demolition, and the big shuffle will begin sometime in April 2012 and the whole construction process has a planned time frame of one year from start to finish.

Tennants have been not been finalized for the rest of the new mall but a full pharmacy, meat, deli, section was mentioned. The existing stores will be able to continue to operate, most are on a month-to-month lease but are invited to stay. Any businesses interested in space in the mall are encouraged to make contact.

The parking lot will be addressed (concrete pad is being removed) with better lighting being added and the current bus pattern will stay as is. The conjestion on Overlander was noted (traffic light was quickly skirted) When all is said and done the new mall should be roughly the same size in square footage.
